Useful information about quotes, payments, insurance, project terms and customer responsibilities when working with Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd.
This information is intended to help customers understand how bathroom, kitchen and plumbing projects are managed.
Quotes and validity
Quotes from Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd are free and provided without obligation.
Written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise.
Deposits and payments
Payment terms will be confirmed before work begins.
For larger bathroom and kitchen installation projects, a deposit or staged payments may be required. This will be agreed with the customer in advance and confirmed as part of the quote or invoice process.
Materials, fixtures, fittings or specialist items may need to be paid for before they are ordered.
Final payment will normally be due on completion of the agreed work, unless different terms have been agreed in writing.
Changes and additional work
Any changes to the agreed work may affect the final price and timescale.
If the customer requests additional work, changes products, changes the layout, or asks for extra finishing work, this may be treated as a variation to the original quote.
Where possible, additional costs will be discussed and agreed before the extra work is carried out.
Hidden issues
Bathroom and kitchen projects can sometimes reveal hidden issues once the old room, units, flooring, tiles or fittings are removed.
Examples may include damaged floors, rotten timber, damp, leaks, poor previous workmanship, hidden pipework, unsuitable walls, damaged plasterboard, or other issues that could not reasonably be seen before work began.
If hidden issues are discovered, Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd will discuss the problem with the customer and explain any additional work, cost or time required before proceeding where possible.
Customer-supplied products
Where customers supply their own products, fixtures, fittings, tiles, flooring, units or appliances, the customer is responsible for ensuring those items are correct, suitable, available on time and free from defects.
Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd can advise where possible, but cannot be responsible for delays, faults, missing parts, incorrect measurements or defects in products supplied by the customer.
Any manufacturer warranty for customer-supplied products remains with the manufacturer or supplier.
Product supply and availability
Where products are supplied by a third-party supplier, availability, delivery times and product specifications may be subject to change.
Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd will keep customers updated where supplier delays or availability issues affect the project.
If a product becomes unavailable, an alternative may need to be agreed with the customer.
Insurance
Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd holds appropriate business insurance for the work carried out.
Details can be provided to customers where required before work begins.
Removal and disposal
When removal and disposal are included in your quote, Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd will arrange for old bathroom suites, kitchen units, tiles, flooring, packaging and other agreed project waste to be removed responsibly.
We use reputable, registered waste disposal services and appropriate waste facilities, so customers can be confident that waste from their project is handled properly and not fly-tipped.
Specialist trades and gas work
Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd focuses on bathroom installations, kitchen installations, plumbing, tiling, flooring, removal, disposal and finishing work.
Where a project requires specialist trade work, including gas work, Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd will coordinate this through an appropriately registered specialist as part of the wider project.
This means customers do not need to organise that separately, while ensuring specialist work is carried out by the correct qualified trade.
Timescales
Any timescale provided is an estimate unless confirmed otherwise in writing.
Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd will aim to complete work within the agreed timeframe, but delays can sometimes occur due to supplier availability, hidden issues, additional work, customer changes, specialist trade availability or circumstances outside our control.
Customers will be kept informed where timescales need to change.
Workmanship
Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd aims to complete all work to the highest professional standard.
If there is an issue with workmanship, customers should contact us as soon as possible so the matter can be reviewed and, where appropriate, put right.
This does not cover damage, misuse, lack of maintenance, issues caused by other trades, customer-supplied defective products, manufacturer defects, or problems caused by existing hidden conditions that were not part of the agreed work.
Cancellation rights
Depending on how and where the contract is agreed, customers may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days.
If a customer asks for work to begin during any cancellation period, they may be responsible for reasonable costs for work already carried out and for materials or special-order items already purchased where legally permitted.
Cancellation rights and any project-specific terms will be confirmed as part of the quote or agreement where applicable.
Statutory rights
Nothing on this website or in our customer information affects your statutory rights.
Lanarkshire Plumbing Ltd will not seek to exclude or restrict any rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
